REsilient and SUstainable envelope for vulnerable buildings in seisMic affected areas at the time of climatE crisis (ERIES-RESUME)

Description

The RESUME project (REsilient and SUstainable envelope for vulnerable buildings in seisMic affected areas at the time of climatE crisis), carried out within the ERIES project (Engineering Research Infrastructures for European Synergies), focuses on developing and testing an innovative modular exoskeleton system for the seismic and energy retrofitting of reinforced concrete (RC) buildings. As part of the project, an experimental campaign was conducted at the IZIIS Dynamic Testing Laboratory using 1:3 scale RC frame structures subjected to shake-table excitation. One model was tested in unstrengthened condition and then retrofitted and retested, while a second model was tested in a pre-strengthened state. The retrofit system combines laminated timber, aluminium elements, and cork insulation, assembled externally without invasive intervention. The dataset includes recorded structural response data (accelerations, displacements, and strains), detailed metadata, input motions, instrumentation drawings, photos, and videos. It provides a valuable basis for understanding the performance of retrofitted buildings and for validating numerical models.
