Taxonomy

The taxonomy used to classify the types of experiments that are included in the Built Environment Data: Experiments service combines a new taxonomy for experimental specimens with the material type and material technology attributes from the GEM Building Taxonomy .

There are four attributes in the Experimental Test Taxonomy string:

Specimen Type / Specimen Sub-type / Material Type / Material Technology.

The possible values and associated IDs (used in the taxonomy string) for each of these four attributes are described in the following tables. It is noted that this is an evolving taxonomy, and additional attributes may need to be added as more experimental test datasets are uploaded.
